2. Return to required ACT/SAT tests |
As a reminder, Ohio State has decided to reinstate the ACT/SAT test requirement for new first-year undergraduate applicants to the Columbus campus in the 2026 admissions cycle and beyond.
A few tips and reminders:
-
Sending test scores: Ohio State requires that test scores be sent directly from the testing agency.
-
Early action: For early action consideration, scores must arrive by our Nov. 1 early action deadline. Be aware of these dates:
-
October 4 (SAT) and September 6 (ACT) are the last 2025 test dates for scores to be considered for early action.
-
October 10 is the recommended last date to request test scores to be sent to Ohio State from the testing agency.
-
Superscoring: Ohio State will begin to superscore the SAT or ACT if students take the test multiple times.
-
For the ACT, we will use the superscore that ACT provides to us.
-
For the SAT, we will take the highest score from each section test to create an SAT superscore.
-
ACT science scores: Students are not required to submit an ACT science score, as it is now optional and no longer factored into the ACT composite score.
-

5. University Honors, Ohio State Scholars & Stamps Eminence |
High school seniors can express interest in being considered for either the University Honors Program or one of our 16 Ohio State Scholars Programs on the Common Application. Applicants considering Honors or Scholars are strongly encouraged to apply by the November 1 early action deadline.
University Honors focuses on the in-classroom experience through Honors courses, undergraduate research and other academic requirements.
Ohio State Scholars offers the opportunity to live and learn in one of 16 themed living-learning communities that bridge academics with experiences outside the classroom.
The Stamps Eminence Scholarship Program offers a full cost of attendance scholarship, academic enrichment stipend, and a supportive four-year program to 50 high-achieving students who have made meaningful contributions to their community and look to be a future driver of change.
To be considered for Stamps Eminence, high school seniors must apply by the November 1 early action deadline, indicate interest in Honors or Scholars on their application, and complete the separate Stamps Eminence application by November 10. Learn more info about Stamps Eminence on the Honors and Scholars website.
6. Morrill Scholarship Program |
The Morrill Scholarship Program is Ohio State’s premier merit scholarship program rewarding academically talented students who are dedicated to scholarship, leadership, service and civic engagement.
Interested students are strongly encouraged to meet Ohio State’s early action deadline of November 1. To apply, students are asked to complete a short essay as part of the Common Application. Please note that the prompt has changed this year. The new prompt is:
The Morrill Scholarship Program encourages students to lead with character while making a positive impact on their communities. In what ways have your life experiences and/or endeavors prepared you to be an active Morrill Scholar who will champion scholarship, leadership, and civic engagement while investing in Ohio State’s culture of service reflective of its land grant mission? Please answer fully, and when possible, provide specific examples.
If you have questions about the application process, please contact MSP at morrillscholars@osu.edu. Learn more about the program on the MSP website.
7. Reminder: Access our school counselor portal and our file uploader |
Our counselor portal helps you navigate the Ohio State admissions process with your students. If needed, renew your access via this form. Please note that the process may take two to three business days. As a reminder: the portal now includes a file uploader for student transcripts and documents. Find the "Upload student documents" link in the portal's Student Reports tab.
We are aware of previous challenges and are working to constantly improve this process. We appreciate your collaboration!
(If you have documents that cannot be uploaded via the Common Application, file uploader or other standard source, please email us from a school address at ugdocs@osu.edu. CCP-related documents can be emailed to ccpdocs@osu.edu.)
Please remember to only submit documents once. Sending them electronically as well as emailing them can result in delays. |
