Timely updates for high school counselors
1. Request for final high school transcripts |
You recently received an email asking for assistance in finalizing your admitted students’ enrollment at Ohio State. We realize that some of you will still be in school through June and those final transcripts will not be available until July – no problem! We would like to receive them by July 15.
If you’ve recently sent final transcripts, thank you! Note that it can take 5 to 7 days to process and match a transcript to a student’s record.
Questions? Reach out to your admissions counselor or contact us at 614-292-3980 or askadmissions@osu.edu.
2. Regional campus enrollment opportunities |
While admission to Ohio State’s Columbus campus is closed for this fall, Ohio students still have the opportunity to become a Buckeye at one of our campuses in Lima, Newark, Marion, Mansfield or ATI at Wooster. Applications remain open through July 15.
3. Return to required ACT/SAT tests |
After careful consideration, Ohio State has decided to reinstate the ACT/SAT test requirement for new first-year undergraduate applicants to the Columbus campus in the 2026 admissions cycle and beyond.
The university will continue to review each applicant holistically, just as it always has. When used as part of a holistic review process, the ACT/SAT score complements other measures to create a fuller picture of future academic success at Ohio State.
A few tips and reminders:
-
Ohio State requires that test scores be sent directly from the testing agency.
-
For early action consideration, scores must arrive by our Nov. 1 early action deadline. Be aware of these key dates:
-
October 4 (SAT) and September 6 (ACT) are the last 2025 test dates for scores to be considered for early action.
-
October 10 is the recommended last date to request test scores be sent to Ohio State from the testing agency.
-
Ohio State will begin to superscore the SAT or ACT if students take the tests more than one time.
-
For ACT we will use the superscore that ACT provides.
-
For SAT we will take the highest score from each section test to create an SAT superscore.
-
Students are not required to submit an ACT science score when it becomes optional and is no longer factored into the ACT composite score.

A note from our assistant vice provost |
We are so excited about the new Buckeyes who will be joining us in the fall. Thank you for your support of our more than 88,500 applicants to the Columbus campus this year.
Our newest Buckeyes will be coming to campus this summer for orientation, working on submitting their housing contracts, and requesting their final high school transcript (plus college transcripts for CCP and AP exam scores) to be sent to Ohio State.
As you work with your sophomores and juniors, we’ve provided some next step suggestions as we return to ACT and SAT standardized testing from your applicants. If there are answers to questions you are receiving that we can add to our testing FAQ, please share those so we can assist you and your students.
We're very grateful for your continued partnership. As always, to connect with us, please reach out to your admissions counselor or email us at askadmissions@osu.edu.
