1. Kiely Fletcher appointed vice provost of strategic enrollment management

Effective June 15, Kiely Fletcher will become the vice provost of strategic enrollment management at Ohio State. Fletcher currently serves as vice provost for enrollment management at University of Illinois Chicago. She succeeds Dr. James Orr and interim vice provost Daman Jaggers.

We are excited to see Fletcher prioritize academic excellence and access at Ohio State. Fletcher will also oversee systems that broaden our ability to support students from all experiences and backgrounds.

2. Request for final high school transcripts

It's that time of year:

  • You'll receive an email next week to remind you to finalize your admitted students' enrollment at Ohio State
  • Send final transcripts by July 15 (plenty of time for students who are in school through June)
  • Note: it can take five days to process and match a transcript to a student's record
Already sent transcripts? Thank you!

Questions?
  • Reach out to your admissions counselor
  • Call us at 614-292-3980
  • Send us an email

3. Regional campus enrollment opportunities

While admission to Ohio State’s Columbus campus is closed for this fall, Ohio students still have the opportunity to become a Buckeye at one of our campuses in Lima, Newark, Marion, Mansfield or ATI at Wooster. Applications remain open through July 15.

4. Reminder on test scores

ACT/SAT scores are required for new first-year applicants to the Columbus campus. Here's some tips and reminders:

  • Test scores must be sent to Ohio State directly from the testing agency
  • Scores must arrive by November 1 to be considered for early action
  • Key dates:
    • October 3: last day to take SAT for early action consideration
    • October 16: last day to send a test score from a previous exam for early action
    • October 17: last day to take ACT for early action consideration
    • December 31: last day to send a score for regular decision consideration
  • Ohio State superscores ACT and SAT tests taken more than once
For testing FAQs, please refer to Step 1 on our application information page. When used as part of a holistic review process, the ACT/SAT score complements other measures to create a fuller picture of future academic success at Ohio State.

5. Summer and fall visit opportunities for students

Throughout the summer and fall, Undergraduate Admissions will host our Buckeye Preview programs: a comprehensive, day-long event where prospective students and their guests tour campus, hear an admissions overview and learn more about Ohio State's amazing academic and extracurricular opportunities!

Registration opens in late May for the following dates:

  • June 26
  • July 17
  • July 24
  • September 18
  • October 3

6. Buckeye Student Leadership Academy update

We are proud to bring you these updates about the Buckeye Student Leadership Academy (BSLA):

  • 211 rising high school seniors applied this year, reflecting strong interest from students across the state
  • Students received selection notifications on April 29
  • July 15 is BSLA kick off day, featuring a dynamic on-campus visit
Please encourage counselors to recognize the initiative shown by all applicants, support students through the outcome, and continue advising them as they explore summer enrichment and leadership opportunities.

Dozens of BSLA cohort members smile for the camera. They spread out across the iconic staircase of the Ohio Union. The bronze statue of Brutus Buckeye is seen lounging on the bench beneath them.

A note from our assistant vice provost

Beth A. Wiser, PhD
Our class is shaping up after May 1: 8,530 students are expected to join us this August. This remarkable class was chosen from more than 75,000 first-year applications. Thank you for your support!

We're excited to be busy this summer:

Our team is your resource; please don't hesitate to email your admissions counselor or email us at askadmissions@osu.edu. Please reach out if we can assist you in any way!

University Exploration

Not sure what to major in? University Exploration is the perfect place to start. Exploration advisors help students use their time strategically, giving them the space and structure to make an informed decision about choosing a major.

Additional details:
  • Common App: Students can select “Undecided/Exploring/University Exploration” when applying
  • Being undecided is OKAY: Ohio State admits students major-blind, so applying as undecided does not reduce admission chances
  • Timely Graduation: EXP students often graduate on time and can pursue nearly all OSU majors (Students interested in Aerospace Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Computer & Information Science, Mechanical Engineering, Nursing, or Design should apply directly to those majors.)
